Wheeling Jesuit University (WJU) has named alumnus David Hacker its director of human resources.

Hacker, who has more than 10 years of experience, will oversee all facets of the university's human resources operations. He received his undergraduate degree from WJU in 2007 and completed is MBA in 2010.

In his role at Wheeling Jesuit, Hacker will be responsible for the daily operations of the university's HR practices, including personnel management, benefits administration, recruitment and on-boarding, and strategic planning related to human capital.

“All of us at WJU are pleased to have David return home to his alma mater to serve as our director of human resources. As a graduate, he understands the principles of Jesuit education. That coupled with his experience in HR will benefit everyone at Wheeling Jesuit,” said WJU President, Dr. Debra Townsley.

Before coming to Wheeling Jesuit, Hacker was the director of human resources for Riesbeck Food Markets. He also worked as the regional director for human resources for Elior, North America in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was executive director for Senior Services of Belmont County, Ohio. He also worked in human resource roles for Easter Seals of Eastern Ohio and West Virginia and Russell Nesbitt Services in Wheeling.

“I am very excited to have a chance to come home. Much of my professional success and love of human resources was founded in my Jesuit education, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to an institution that has provided me so much. I look forward to getting to know the faculty, staff and administrators on campus, and helping to align the University's most valuable resources with our mission,” Hacker said.
