Two Top Runners Join Forces at WJU

WHEELING, WV, July 17, 2009 - Ryan Beabout, a school record holder in cross country and track for the Patriots, has confirmed he is transferring to Wheeling Jesuit University from the University of Tennessee to compete for Coach Ricky Moore.

WV Wesleyan Sweeps WVIAC Track & Field Titles

Wheeling, WV, May 2, 2009---WV Wesleyan’s women claimed their seventh straight WVIAC Track and Field championship and 17th of the last 19 today at Wheeling Jesuit University with a team total of 234 points.

Kump, Beattie Take WVIAC T&F Multi-Event Titles

West Virginia Wesleyan's Richard Kump and Seton Hill's Erin Beattie maintained their lead from day one to capture the WVIAC multi-event titles.  Kump tallied 6277 points to easily win the men's decathlon, while Beattie registered 4037 points on her way to top heptathlon honors.  Points earned from this weekend's multi-events carry over to the main portion of next week's WVIAC Track & Field Championship.

Jones Best Mile at NYU's Fast Track

Stewart Jones (Fr., Weirton, WV) set a personal best and WVIAC leading time in the mile with a 4:20.00.  This broke his previous personal best and WVIAC leading time of 4:22.02 set at the Great Dane Classic. 

Great Dane Classic Highlights

Steven Yurko (pictured, So., Warsaw, OH) finished 9th in the men's shot put with a throw of 14.53m. He was the only Division II athlete to make the shot put finals.

Dustin Hall (So., St. Mary's, WV) ran a WVIAC leading time in the mens 3000 meter run with a time of 8:56.10.

Stewart Jones (Fr., Weirton, WV) set a personal best and WVIAC leading time in the mile with a 4:22.02.
