WJU Women Beat Ohio Valley

Vienna, WV, Sept. 16, 2009---Wheeling Jesuit University women's soccer team (3-3, 1-2) defeated Ohio Valley University in an afternoon conference contest on Wednesday.

Kara Houston led the team in scoring with a hat trick and one assist.  Megan Newrones, Hannah Walker, Ashley McGinnis and Amy stiltner all added a goal.

In the first period, the Lady Cardinals scored two goals on 15 shots.  Kara Houston started the scoring in the 18th minute on a pass from Amy Stiltner.  Houston played the ball to Ashley McGinnis, who knocked down the shot and gave the Cards a 2-0 advantage.

After the break, WJU found the back of the net five times.  Stiltner, Hannah Walker and Megan Newrones all scored.  Houston struck twice completing her first hat trick of the season.

The Lady Cards are on a two game win streak and will travel to Urbana University on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match.
