Jesuit Volleyball Sweeps Charleston

Charleston, WV, Oct. 27, 2009---The Wheeling Jesuit volleyball team moves to 10-0 in WVIAC play and 25-5 overall after sweeping conference rival Charleston by scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-18.

Freshman Allissa Ware led the Cardinals in kills with 13 and added 10 digs while junior Keysha Allison threw down 11 kills and tossed 17 assists. On the defensive side of the net, Allison recorded six digs and three blocks. Junior Laura O'Reilly had 13 digs to lead the Cards.

Seniors Catie Halberstadt and Missy Gossett contributed a balanced attack for WJU as well. Halberstadt had seven kills on a .333 hitting percentage and chipped in nine digs.  Gossett led Jesuit with six blocks and put away six kills.

Cardinal Volleyball will play host to Concord University on Friday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m.and will hold a tri-match with Bluefield State and  Mercyhurst on Saturday begining at 11:00 a.m.
