Women's Volleyball Still Unbeaten in WVIAC

Wheeling, WV, Oct. 7, 2009---Wheeling Jesuit women's volleyball team (16-5, 5-0) hosted Alderson-Broaddus College (11-11, 6-2) on Wednesday night at the Alma Grace McDonough Center.  The Cardinals cruised by the Battlers 3-0 by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-13 to stay unbeaten in the WVIAC.

Wheeling Jesuit’s offense tallied 43 kills on a 105 attempts for a .314 hitting percentage.  Senior Catie Halberstadt and freshman Allissa Ware led the team with eight kills each while senior Missy Gossett, junior Keysha Allison and sophomore Megan Ozarzak all had seven.

The defense was led by Halberstadt with 16 digs and Laura O'Reilly followed with nine.  Gossett had four blocks while Halberstadt, Ware and Ozarzak chipped in two blocks a piece.

The Lady Cardinals will travel to Buckhannon, WV on Thursday, October 8th for a 7:00 p.m. conference match against WV Wesleyan College.
