Crimson Hawk Invitational Recap Day 2
Indiana, PA, Nov. 20, 2009---The Wheeling Jesuit University swimming team continued swimming well during the second day of the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Jesuit scored a pair of thirds in the 200 Medley Relay. The women’s team of sophomore Chelsea Guiseppi, and freshmen Stephanie Blau, Emily Martin, and Casey Hamilton touched in 1:58.44.
The Cardinal team of freshman Matt Logan, sophomore Sean Weaver, freshman Patrick Chadowski and sophomore Max Queale finished in a time of 1:41.39.
The 400 IM saw Blau capture a third place finish in 4:55.80 and on the men’s side, Chadowski and Logan finished 2nd and 4th respectively with times of 4:23.73 and 4:31.41.
Martin captured 2nd in the 100 Butterfly in 59.9 and Chadowski scored 6th for the Cardinal men in 56.12. Steve and Hamilton touched 5th and 6th in the 200 Freestyle in 2:04.25 and 2:04.87. Teammate freshman Tom Smith scored 5th with a time 1:49.63.
The Cardinal men took 4th and 6th in the 100 Breaststroke with Longenete and Chadowski touching in times of 1:03.48 and 1:04.56. Logan scored 5th in the 100 Backstroke in a time of 58.76.
The final event of the second day of completion was the 800 Freestyle Relay. The Cardinals scored a pair of thirds with the women’s team of Martin, Steve, Guiseppi and Hamilton finishing in 8:14.55. The Men’s team of Smith, sophomore Ben Foreman, Chadowski and Queale touched in 7:25.24.
The Cards will be in action tomorrow at the IUP Natatorium during the last day of competition. |
