WJU Volleyball Improves to 6-3

Slippery Rock, PA, Sept. 9, 2009---The Wheeling Jesuit University volleyball team defeated Slippery Rock 3-0 on the road Wednesday night, improving to 6-3 on the season.

The Cardinals won all three sets 25-14.  Junior Keysha Allison led the team in scoring with 11 kills and 18 assists.  She added nine digs, nearly recording a second triple double on the season. 

Junior Emily Borchers finished with seven kills while Senior Catie Halberstadt and Freshman Allissa Ware tallied six.   

Halberstadt anchored the defense with 19 digs, and junior libero, Laura O’Reilly had 16.

The Cardinal Volleyball team will travel to Eire, PA for three matches in the Mercyhurst/Gannon Tournament.  They open with Mercyhurst on Friday, September 11th at 6:00 p.m.
