An Update from the Admissions Office
By Jay DeFruscio, Acting Director
The University held an early registration on Friday, May 18 and welcomed 34 students. To date nearly 250 students have made a deposit and numbers are similar to those recorded in 2005.
As incentive for prospective students for deposit in May, the University is offering those students a $100 bookstore voucher or the opportunity to attend the Connections leadership training.
And the admissions office and Alumni Council have launched a new program to help in the recruitment process. The Alumni In Admissions Program will allow alumni the chance to contact prospective students who have applied and congratulate those students on being accepted to WJU. Alumni Council members and members of the class of 1963 Allen Wojcik, Judy Geary and Tom Kelleher are administering the Program and are working hand-in-hand with the admission and alumni offices. If you are interested in becoming a part of the program, contact the Alumni Office at alumni@wju.edu.
I would also like to thank everyone who has referred students to Wheeling Jesuit throughout the year. I hope that you will continue to talk to your friends and family about the quality education your alma mater provides and encourage them to consider WJU when looking at colleges.
